Creating Quadrophenia Album

I wanted to include an image of the Quadrophenia album on my double page spread so I took a picture of my model on a motorbike (even though it is originally a moped) and turned it into black and white. I then put it in a grey box and wrote 'Quadrophenia' around each edge as it is on the actual album cover. I then created a smoke effect.

This lesson I have written my article and put it onto my double page spread. I have also changed the background from grey to the brick wall I used on my front cover as the grey background looked too plain.

Existing Article

This lesson I have looked at an existing article from a classic rock magazine. This will help me in constructing my own article as I can take inspiration from a professional source making my magazine look realistic.

Development: 20/02/2013

I have created rectangular templates so I can create columns of writing, I will remove these when the article is finished. Although I have begun writing my article on the first page, I am going to place the dominant image under the title to draw the reader in with my introduction under it. I will then have my full article on the next page so the audience is already 'hooked' into reading it and will continue.

I have started my article and have used the same background as the contents page to stickthetheme of grey, blue, red and white.

Development: 06/02/2013

Today is our final day to finish our contents page and I am almost finished. During the last hour I have finished my articles and features that I will list, I have added the Quadrophenia symbol behind my 'Cover Story' text (the same image from my front cover) and I have added the issue number and date to the top of the page along side the title of my magazine. I still need to write my Editor's Letter and add page numbers. I will do this 4th lesson.

I have changed the font of the 'Editor's Letter' and have taken the banner from behind it as it is not part of the contents. I have added 'REGULARS' as my target audience are older and will want something that is the same every month so they can become familiar with it.

Rough Draft: Contents Page

This is a rough draft of my contents page. When looking at existing contents pages from Mojo magazine, I realised that my page was looking too similar. In order to add some originality, I am going to have two columns of contents and an editors letter.
